This post is more for me than for anyone else. I’m the worst when it comes to heeding my own words, but I plan to work with intention toward this goal – LESS IS MORE.
Here are a few action items that can ease the stress we carry in our lives:
- Self-Care – do what relaxes you – down time
- Read More – Write More
- Bubble Bath
- Miracle Mornings
- Sitting Quiet Under a Tree (my mom will appreciate this one)
- Spend time with Loved Ones
- Stop trying to Keep Up with the Jones’ – you don’t have to have the latest and greatest
- Surround Yourself with Positive People and set an intention to not let negativity affect you
- Let go
- Material Things
- Trying to be like others
- Things you can’t change
Like I said last week, there’s something freeing about surrendering. I often times think backe on the great memories our family has from twenty years ago. A simpler time when we had just enough to get by (little money, small home, old car, never ate out, hand-me-down clothes, etc.), but we were so happy. We didn’t have a lot and worked hard to do small things with the kids, but it is those small things they remember most. We played outside, walked to the park when it wasn’t raining, and played hide and seek in the house when it was raining.
Recently, a friend shared how she spent the day with my adult daughter. Crafting with the toddlers was the event of the day. My daughter told my friend how I did crafts with her and her siblings when they were growing up. She said it was some of her favorite memories, and she wanted to share them with her children.
Less brings more into your life. More time, more space, more happiness. So, by letting go you can free yourself from the stress of desiring more, thus allowing you to live for the things that really matter. Join me this week, and set an intention to seek less in order to have more.
Until Next Time…
