Three of a Kind

To get this shot, I was on the ground (sort of obvious, right?). But I say that to say this, sometimes a great picture requires sacrifice. I am prone when my husband leans down next to me and whispers, “Did you check the ground for bird poop first?”

I’m shocked – bird poop!? (side note: Lake Morton, Lakeland, FL is known for swans, freshwater birds, and a plethora of other bird species – it’s a great place for photos.) So I whisper back, “Of course not.” And sure enough, when I arose from my vantage point, what should appear on the front of my shirt? That’s right, no surprise there, bird poop!

Oh, and a bit later, while leaning over the water to grab another shot, my favorite Dollar Store glasses decided to leap from my head and enjoy a nice swim. So, yeah, sacrifices.

This was shot with a Nikon D700 and my 50mm/1.4 lens at ISO: 800; 1/8,000; f3.5. Photo editing credit: Jennifer Goodlet Photography.
