This photo is full of story. Everything about it screams look at me! This was my first Food Truck Rally I’ve had the opportunity to shoot, and while I did get some great shots, this one may be my favorite from the night.
As a writer, I want to tell this gal’s story. Why did she choose this shirt? What is her passion or awareness of Black Lives Matter – and why display this on her earrings? How full was the tip jar? Does she like the food she serves? Did she have a conversation with the fedora guy – outside of taking his order? And of course, is perfection really boring?
A photo like this can halt your typical thoughts and make you ask questions. It can send your imagination into overdrive creating a story behind the image. There truly is power in photography.
