It seems like the only constant for me is my ability to be inconsistent. At some point I’ll make a habit of posting on the regular. Until then, here I am.
So, I’ve made it through my first complete cycle of four seasons, my second Virginia winter; this year’s being much harsher than last. I’ve lived through my first snow storm (though nothing like they got in Kansas), and have successfully navigated my move into my me-era. I’ve learned to crochet, loom knit, and not unalive plants – which I am quite proud of by the way.
With all that, what I’m mostly enjoying is the time with the hubs. Exploring the Blue Ridge, local artisan shops, nurseries, and local restaurants have been the highlight of our new adventure. The extra cherry on top is the fact that I’m minutes away from my mother.
What we weren’t expecting was state taxes, paying our own taxes on the husband’s retirement, and the insane property taxes attached to all property: vehicles, pets, etc.
But all-in-all, I wouldn’t change a thing. I love this area. I love the people. And I love the icing on the cake – the BRP.
